Pitt fans, we know you love the Oakland Zoo. That’s why, starting this season, we’re bringing the Zoo to you. Wherever you are- Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Miami, London, Singapore, Hong Kong- you’ll now be able to take the Oakland Zoo with you.

Starting thirty minutes before every Pitt home game at the Petersen Events Center, WPTS, the Oakland Zoo leaders, and 1200 raucous Pitt students will join together to bring you the excitement, anticipation, and electrifying atmosphere that the Zoo has become famous for. But the fun won’t stop after tipoff- you’ll get plenty of check-ins with the Zoo during breaks, halftime, and other stoppages in the game, because Pitt basketball just wouldn’t be Pitt basketball without the Oakland Zoo.

The best part is, this won’t just be a WPTS pregame show from the Oakland Zoo- this will be a show cohosted by the entire Oakland Zoo, broadcasted in Pittsburgh on 92.1 WPTS and worldwide at wptsradio.org for free. Pitt fans, this is your show. If you’re down at the Pete, stop by and offer your thoughts and spirit on air. This show is whatever you decide to make it into, so if you have any ideas or hopes for it, definitely let WPTS and the Zoo know by commenting on wptsradio.org, emailing us at wpts.sports@gmail.com or TheOaklandZoo@gmail.com, or sending a Tweet to @WPTSSports or @OaklandZoo!

It all starts this Friday at 6:30 p.m. with the world premiere of the Oakland Zoo Show prior to Pitt’s season opener against Albany. Hear Pitt basketball the way it was meant to be heard from the official radio station of the Oakland Zoo, 92.1 WPTS!
