Getting involved at WPTS Radio is super easy! Any student at the University of Pittsburgh is welcome to join as a member of our various staffs or as a radio DJ. During the summer we open our doors to Pitt faculty & staff and community members to host radio shows and get involved. WPTS is a learning environment where you can gain the experience necessary for successful careers in radio or other communications fields but it is also a student organization where you can meet new people and join us in fun events like our annual spring and fall show.
We consider WPTS Radio to be the home of Pitt’s broadcast curriculum where you can learn how to operate our equipment, speak on air, and structure weekly radio shows. No experience is required and our training staff is equipped to teach you all the essential skills of radio broadcast. Our weekly shows include live sports commentary, morning talk shows, 2-hour music shows, and news broadcasts.
If you’re hoping to gain experience in event promotion, business operations or even community outreach we have staffs that could use your help! Please see our contact page for a list of each individual staff and feel free to contact a director for ways to get involved. The station is located in room 411 of the William Pitt Union, feel free to stop by during regular business hours to see our space and get acquainted with our staff.
