Campus Round Table February 27
On this week’s incredibly informative Campus Round Table, host John Lavanga leads a near unprecedented foray into an evaluative discourse on a wide array of topics. He is joined by Assistant News Director and Pitt Political Review senior editor Matt Singer, Rainbow Alliance President Tricia Dougherty, Club Golf Team President and Pitt Political Review senior editor David Uhrmacher, Pitt Dance Marathon Overall Chair Alex Murdoch, Pitt Dance Marathon Overall Chair and Student Government Board Fundraising and Advertising Committee Chairperson Erin Worbs, Pitt Men’s Ice Hockey Club Vice President Rob Behling and University of Pittsburgh Feel Good Chapter President Aisha White. The fiercely interesting conversation spans all things PDM, including a debate over Student Government Board allocations, funding, governance and legitimacy. The panel then shifts the discussion to the issues of the oft promised expansion of allocation transparency, club and organization sustainability at Pitt, even affordability, budget precedents, and the role of the newly formed Fundraising and Advertising Committee in bridging the gap between the financial needs of student groups and the funding they receive from Student Government Board.
