Guess that Activity – Part 1
By Megan Forziati
The wind bounced off the ground and whipped between the trees, throwing the branches into a frenzied salsa dance. Tears blurred her vision, the tips of her fingers felt like a savage animal had been gnawing at them for hours, and her toes were beginning to feel like they had been stepped on by a sasquatch. And yet, Cara couldn’t get enough. As the ground grew further and further away, her anticipation gained the momentum of an avalanche. Her eyes continuously adjusted to the changing altitudes as everything began to look like a town for elves. She was too high to change her mind and too thrilled to want to.
Not a soul was in sight as she checked her jacket and her boots to make sure everything was in place. Cara sheepishly grinned as she let a big glob of spit drop to the abyss below her. The childish antic never got old. She could hear nothing but the occasional rusty piece of metal struggle along the steel cable. Cara waited with a smile frozen on her face, though perhaps not for her excitement and instead due to the shear chill of the air. She certainly didn’t need to invest in any blush after this trip. As she looked around, Cara felt light. Despite the amount of debilitating layers she had thrown on only ten minutes before, she felt as though she could fly amongst the clouds. And in her mind, that is exactly what she was about to do.
Once every two weeks a two part short story will arise from the mind of Megan. In other words, once a month a brand new story will come out, however, in order to find out the ending of the story, you will need to tune in two weeks from the first part to get the follow up. Enjoy!
