Humanities Media Fellowship
The Humanities Media Fellowship is a paid position that offers an opportunity for an undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh to plan, produce, and promote media projects that bring humanities-related projects to a broader audience. These projects will build on the success of the Year of Humanities podcasts, a series of interviews with visitors to Pitt’s campus during the Year of the Humanities in the University (available here).
The fellow will be expected to work with the staff of the Humanities Center and WPTS Radio to produce at least one podcast per month of at least 30 minutes length. The position will provide a stipend of $300 per month from January, 2017 through April, 2017, with the possibility of working summer months (May-August) depending on availability. New and creative ways to produce content and engage audiences—beyond the established interview format—are encouraged.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the humanities, some audio editing experience, and a desire to create a broader audience for the kind of thinking that takes place in humanities departments at Pitt (a full list of humanities departments is available here).
Please submit a résumé and cover letter to the Humanities Center at humctr@pitt.edu. The cover letter should address the applicant’s experience with and commitment to the humanities. The deadline for applications is October 21, 2016.
