WPTS has an extensive history, and many of our previous members have gone on to do great things using the knowledge they’ve learned here. We were fortunate to have one of our former Hip-Hop Directors, MH the Verb, perform on our Live Show. From the moment he entered our studio and proceeded to put on sunglasses at eight o’clock at night, I could tell that this wouldn’t be a generic performance. In addition to his musical equipment, he brought a variety of props including a space helmet that he put on during “Traffic.”
From the moment he entered our studio and proceeded to put on sunglasses at eight o’clock at night, I could tell that this wouldn’t be a generic performance.
MH the Verb is part of a collective called ARTHOUSE95 that “blends jazz, electronica, hip hop, rock, and soul while engaging listeners with interactive art.” Members range from classically trained musicians to well-established visual artists. For his performance on WPTS, MH brought bassist Data Flow and keyboardist Logan Roth. Together they performed a variety of songs from MH the Verb’s discography, and highlighted their musicianship by featuring multiple improvised jams throughout the show. MH the Verb was one of my favorite performances on Live Show and I am excited for future releases from him and the rest of ARTHOUSE95.
You can visit MH The Verb’s website here and check out their music on Soundcloud. Also, you can tune into WPTS Radio for our last Live Show of the semester this Wednesday, April 18th at 9 pm on www.wptsradio.org, RadioFX, or 92.1FM Pittsburgh.
