The organization Live Earth, which aims to raise awareness for the gravity of climate change, is attempting to gain one billion signatures to inspire our world leaders to enact change to protect the environment. The concerts will each be four to six hours in length, span all seven continents, and be broadcasted over 200 television channels worldwide. The concerts will occur over a 24 hour period on June 18th, 2015. Pharrell and Al Gore similarly teamed up for a Live Earth event in 2007 which featured musicians such as Kanye West, Metallica, and the Foo Fighters.
Last year, the Beastie Boys sued Monster Energy for using their music in a promotional video without their permission. The lawsuit netted the band a total of $1.7 million.
