WPTS Announces Collaboration with the Pitt News
WPTS has accomplished some great things over the past semester – publishing its first-ever Zine, hosting its highest grossing concert ever, launching a new website, as well as airing numerous interviews with high-profile artists; but we aren’t stopping there!
Beginning Thursday, January 5th, WPTS-FM and The Pitt News will begin a new and exciting partnership, bringing together the two largest media content organizations serving the University of Pittsburgh. This partnership will feature your favorite Pitt News writers on WPTS airwaves every Thursday at 4:30pm, where on “The Pitt News on WPTS”, Pitt News writers will comment on the biggest stories of the week, augmenting WPTS’ already powerhouse news programming slots and web-exclusive material. In addition to Thursdays on WPTS expanding your Pitt News experience on the FM dial, you can find the WPTS weekly charts of the best bands, records, and singles that are making a splash on WPTS. These charts will be complimented by a regularly published column or record review written by a rotating cast of WPTS Directors in The Pitt News’ Weekender, providing expert commentary and analysis as to burgeoning musical and cultural trends relating to progressive music, including rock and roll, electronic, hip-hop and more!
These exciting innovations won’t be restricted to print and the airwaves, however – both WPTS and The Pitt News will host web-exclusive content linked between the social media accounts, websites, and podcasts of both organizations, allowing you to access cutting-edge information anywhere, anytime. This one of a kind partnership will make accessing insight, information, and general content from two award-winning campus media outlets easier and more convenient than ever before. It is my pleasure to announce this incredibly promising partnership. Tune in, pick it up, and check it out!
