WPTS Radio and Drusky Entertainment Present Waxahatchee

Waxahatchee is an American indie music project, formed in 2010 by the American singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield.
While still a member of P.S. Elliot, a band formed with her twin sister Allison, Crutchfield released her first music as Waxahatchee as a split cassette with Chris Clavin on Plan-It-X Records. Her bedroom-recorded debut album, American Weekend, was released on Don Giovanni Records in 2012. Crutchfield wrote and recorded the album in one week while at her family home inBirmingham, Alabama. In the lyrics, she focuses in on personal relationships, exploring feelings of devastation and longing. Shortly after the release, she moved to Brooklym, New York.
The album garnered positive reviews, and was named a top album of 2012 by Dusted magazine.”Be Good” from the album was a song of the day on National Public Radio, and listed as one of the best 50 songs of 2012, and ‘Catfish’ was featured in Welcome to Night Vale.
A second album, Crulean Salt, was released on Don Giovanni Records in March 2013 on and four months later on Wichita Records in the UK. The album reached #1 on the Official Record Store Chart for the week of July 13, 2013 and received high praise from critics including a score of 8.4 from Pitchfork. Waxahatchee supported Tegan and Sara on their UK tour, before playing a headline UK tour in October.
Crutchfield signed to Merge Records for North America and a third album,Ivy Tripp, was released in April 2015. An extensive tour of North America and Europe was announced to tie in with the release
